There are many spotting scopes available on the market today. Designs have changed slightly, but the overall usefulness of a good scope remains in the eye of the beholder. Bushnell, one of the more renowned names in optics, has maintained a quality line of scopes noted for their durability, size and function. The Bushnell Spacemaster Spotting Scope review will show why, though not the top of the line, this scope has survived the changes and advancements required to remain one of the more trustworthy scopes on the market.

Bushnell has been offering quality optic devices for more than sixty years and the Spacemaster line is no exception. The smallest of the group is the 15-45x 50mm which also comes with a fixed 25 power eye-piece. It has a rubber-coated body and is extremely lightweight as scopes go at only 22 ounces. With its available carry case and ability to give a relatively sharp 38 meter view at 1000 meters, this scope is a good addition to any backpacking trip.

Weatherproof

If the trip you have planned may get into harsher territory or more inclement weather conditions, the 15-45x 60mm may be a better option. This scope has a weatherproof rubber armor coating making it a more rugged and durable model. They are available in black or cammo and come standard with Rainguard HD coated lenses. The offered field of view on this model is 22 meters at 1000 and the redesigned packs allow for both scope and tripod to be stored securely within easy reach.

Multi position

The latest addition to the Spacemaster optics line is the 20-60x 60mm multi-position spotting scope. This scope offers a mobile eyepiece that allows the viewer to use it in a straight position or any angle up to vertical. At 1000 meters, the scope also gives a clear 16 meter viewing range for sharper up-close images. Like the rest of the Spacemaster lineup, this scope is able to mount onto any tripod that has standard threads available.

Though none of these scopes are meant to compete with state-of-the-art optics, their versatility and durability make them a more practical item than their more expensive counterparts. Their low price makes the Bushnell scopes one of the best choices for mid-grade optics while featuring many high-level perks. Their compact design allows for a quick and easy storage that does not take up your entire backpack. In addition, like many have found, their light weight is a must by the end of the hike.

Bushnell has been leading the imaging and optics markets for decades and it is no surprise why: the company’s products are not only innovative but they have proven to be superior to the competition in performance and durability time and time again. Their products are geared toward the outdoor enthusiast, which include binoculars, cameras, gun sights, navigation devices, and scopes. This article will focus on the Bushnell spotting scope and in particular, the Trophy Spotting Scope line.

Bushnell’s Trophy Spotting Scope line contains two models: the 15-45x 50mm and the 20-60x 65mm. Both models are extremely lightweight, making them ideal for toting long distances on a hike or deep woods hunt. Both scopes have a waterproof, rubberized outer shell that protects it from the elements as well as offers a non-slip grip for the user. A compact, transportable tripod is included with each scope, and each scope comes with both a soft and a hard carrying case. Porro prisms and multi-coated lenses are used in both of these scope models, offering consumers a clear and crisp image at an affordable price.

The 15-45x 50mm scope gives users a high degree of magnification with ample lens diameter to allow maximum image detail and clarity. It has an impressive field of view at 1000 yards of 120 feet at 15x magnification and a respectable 40 feet at full 45x magnification.

The 20-60x 65mm scope offers users an even wider lens diameter that affords excellent image detail at the highest magnification. The field of view at 1000 yards of 90 feet at 20x magnification is quite remarkable as is the field of view of 45 feet at maximum magnification of 60x.

Overall, the Bushnell Trophy Spotting Scope line has received favorable reviews. Some of the key remarks are listed below.

Positives:
• lightweight, compact design
• affordable/good value for the money
• weatherproof rubber coating also affords reliable grip
• consistently clear image quality, even at high magnifications
• durable
• fold-up nature of tripod is convenient for traveling

Negatives:
• tripod is somewhat unstable
• tripod is a bit short for some users
• images at highest magnifications were sometimes blurry
• images in low sunlight were a bit blurry

Some of the negatives were not unexpected, however, such as having a rather blurry image when the sun is setting and the object being spotted is 200+ yards away. Users who found fault with the tripod did appreciate the fact that the scope has a universal tripod thread on it, allowing more stable tripods to be used in place of the one these scopes come with.

When you decide you want to begin losing some of those strokes off your golf game it is important to understand some easy ways in which you can do this without having to pay a large amount of money for lessons as well as not needing to worry about the amount of time that you will need to spend practicing and playing to improve your game. There are other methods which can be used in order to make sure that your golf scar starts dropping and one such way is to begin using the Bushnell golf rangefinder in order to help you while out on your favorite golf course. This item can be very helpful and it will provide you with an opportunity to improve your game.

The features that are offered in a quality rangefinder are a laser which will give you accurate measurements calculated from wherever you are on the course. The rangefinder is a very important feature because the whole point in having one is so you will always be able to know the accurate distance to anything on the course. So, basically the rangefinder will help you know how far you need the ball to go in order to reach the hole as well as any other location on the course. With this kind of tool in your arsenal you can always be confident that you are making the right choice for a particular shot or situation in regards to the yardage.

A Bushnell golf rangefinder is one brand that is very well known and the reason for this is simply because Bushnell was the first company to make a rangefinder that has the pin seeking feature which is used in their rangefinder and now they have become the first to offer a feature capable of providing exact yardage as well as the green’s elevation or whatever other target you are trying to reach. This basically means that you will have a much better chance of knowing precisely how far you will need to hit your golf ball so that you can get yourself in the location you want when it is time for your next shot. Certainly this will add a level of confidence and will help to ensure that your game continues to get better.

When it comes to yardage devices, there are many different choices, you could even choose a GPS, but maybe this is not the right choice for your needs. A GPS can be a good choice when you already know that a particular course you are planning to play on has been properly set up for GPS. However, with the Bushnell golf rangefinder you will always know that you will get the accurate yardage and with the various GPS units you will not always know that. Some GPS units will work very well and will have numerous different courses already stored in them which you can use, but it might still be a struggle to determine exact yardages to certain hazards, landing areas or the pin.

One of the smaller Bushnell golf Rangefinders which utilizes Bushnell’s pinseeker technology is the Tour V2 Laser; it is a great choice for anyone who wants a smaller and more easily carried model. The Bushnell Pro 1600 is a new rangefinder offered by Bushnell and is the top laser rangefinder used in golf. The Medalist Rangefinder by Bushnell also uses Pinseeker technology and has Bushnell’s x4magnification bringing Pinseeker technology accuracy to distance control.

Golfers can use a rangefinder to calculate distances to objects even when other things such as trees located around the target area. Scan mode will allow the golfer to move the rangefinder and continuously get updates on the distance while moving from one location to another.

The 450 Yardage pro made by Bushnell was one of the first rangefinders to hit the market. It measures distances from five yards to 1,500 yards and removes all the guesswork involved in estimating distances on the course. A laser is used to calculate distances in meters and yards.

The LCD screen is easy to read. All icons and numbers can be clearly seen even under all weather conditions.
Digital technology makes it possible for this device to deliver accurate measurements. When the device is pointed and activated, the laser beam bounces off the target. The distance is calculated by determining how much time it takes the beam to return to the source. That time is converted into distance using light speed as the constant for the calculation.

The user receives data almost instantaneously as the information is displayed on the screen in meters and yards in less than a second from the time the device is activated.

The Yardage Pro GPS offered by Bushnell is a fairly standard GPS system with very little in the way of extras. This compact device is weatherproof, lightweight and one of the easiest units of its kind for the user to figure out.

Distance can be noted at a glance on the screen which is completely legible even when outdoors.

This GPS device is small enough to fit in one hand and will read distance in meters and yards. The memory allows the user to store information for up to ten courses. The unit acts as a scorecard and provides information about the course. The receiver accommodates twenty channels and it has a hot start function that takes just ten seconds.

Golf enthusiasts who crave to win a round easily simply use Bushnell PinSeeker 1500 20-5103 Laser Golf Rangefinder. Take note that the Bushnell Pinseeker helps golfers avoid mistakes in yardage, improves your own score and helps you be a winner. Essentially, the product is a decent laser rangefinder which possesses digital technology. Basically, such a technology allows the laser rangefinder to give you precise distance and measure from five to 1,500 yards. The Bushnell Pinseeker laser rangefinder functions fast and also displays the exact range to more than or less than a yard. Take note that its characteristics include the following: excellent optical quality, targeted selecting modes, waterproof construction and the patented Rain Guard Coating made by Bushnell. Its laser rangefinder also possess a mode button thereby allowing you to utilize a rangefinder in one of its 3 modes.

Bushnell PinSeeker makes use of laser technology in order to calculate distances. All you need to do is peep through the PinSeeker and focus the LCD crosshairs at a specific object whether it is a tree, a bunker face or a flag. The unit then sends a light pulse. What the PinSeeker does is measure the quantity of time it takes for the light to bounce off on and return to the object. In basic math, this incorporates the speed of light which then results to a yardage. The PinSeeker then measures 1.7" x 5.1" x 3.7" or approximately the size of 2 ball sleeves. Its weight is 11.9 ounces allowing those who carry their bag to not notice the added weight. Basically, the range finder is precise up to 1500 yards though only using a reflector. Believe it or not, the PinSeeker can locate a flag up to a maximum of 400 yards. Meanwhile, trees could be found up to a maximum of 1000 yards.

The PinSeeker functions using a 9-volt single battery. The eyepiece single-lens provides 7x magnification as well as an LCD which covers one’s view and on which graphics and numbers appear. The diopter could then be adjusted to plus or minus 4 points allowing those with substandard vision to see clearly their target.

The PinSeeker is actually pre-programmed with club average intervals as well as trajectories. It also calculates the slope to either plus or minus a degree.

When it is used for golf, it is great at finding fast the flag thereby offering a precise yardage. Though it is quite expensive at it costs $449, it could be used not just in golf unlike SkyCaddie. Believe it or not, range finders are mainly used by photographers, hunters as well as home builders. The following are a few of the PinSeeker’s features: built-in relfector, standard scan mode, fully multi coated optics, Rainguard HD, twist up eyepiece metal with oversized ocular as well as a premium carrying case. The item also includes a nine-volt battery.

Working as a legal rangefinder for the tournaments, this review of the Bushnell Tour V2 Pinseeker won’t address the questions related to the gradient. As it compares with the other features however, it does wind up being the second best in many respects.

Size is an important factor.

Other reviews will in most cases ignore size. This is because most rangefinders are almost the same. The fact that was realized during the review of the Bushnell Tour V2 Pinseeker is that this is a very clear exception. This is one of the appeals that it has for the golfer. To sum it up, this is a small and light rangefinder. This would make it convenient for golfers and it will prove to be a valued asset. The weight of this object is light at 6.6 oz which makes it easy to carry around.

Even with its size put in consideration, it is highly advanced. This item includes the pinseeker targeting which is highly sought out by many golfers into its frame. When the Bushnell Tour V2 Pinseeker rangefinder was being reviewed, this technology showed itself to be a real treat due to its efficient targeting of flags and it doesn’t latch on to any of the background targets.

In spite of its size it is very useful. In fact it has power that compares to some of the larger rangefinders.

Adequate Range, Great Accuracy and Exceptional Magnification

All of the rest of the features that were looked at in this review of the Bushnell Tour V2 Pinseeker is working adequately at the least. This product has a range that goes up to 1,000 yards and an approximate accuracy of 1 meter. While it is on par with the other larger models, it is not quite a match for them. This item, however is a must have for the convenience an ease of use.

In addition, the five times zoom might sound like it’s a lot less than the seven time zoom available on the market today, but most people would agree that it’s a great trade off, since the Pinseeker can allow you to target flags a lot simpler than other models.

Instead of having to use bulky and large rangefinders that you constantly need to take out and then put back into the carrying bags, Bushnell Tour V2 Pinseeker’s review will be able to find out that smaller things can be better sometimes.

If a golfer is looking for this type of convenience, the Bushnell Tour V2 rangefinder is definitely worth the consideration.

Bushnell Rangefinder 1600

The Bushnell 1600 is appealing thanks to the fact that it comes in two editions: the Pro 1600 Tournament and the Pro 1600 Slope. These models boast many of the same features yet there is one crucial difference between the two: the Tournament Edition calculates yardage over terrain that is flat while the Slope Edition calculates distances over inclines and declines. It can do this through its inclinometer which reads the distance readings and then adjusts them. With a 7x magnification, it is not difficult to see a shot, even if you cannot see it with the naked eye. The ranges for the Slope Edition and Tournament Edition vary from five to one thousand six hundred yards, plus or minus a yard. This is the greatest accuracy you can get. Golf does involve sinking a tiny ball into a tiny ball after all.

Bushnell Rangefinder Elite 1500

The Bushnell Rangefinder Elite 1500 measures 1.7 x 5.1 x 3.7 inches and is 11.8 oz in weight. This rangefinder utilizes one nine volt radio battery which is advantageous in comparison to the batteries used in previous models. The model ranges as near as 5 yards.

The 7 power monocular proves the ideal choice, providing you with adequate precision for long-range work in the absence of dimming the monocular to excess. Eye relief is 19 millimeters. A 3.71 millimeter exit pupil in combination with a fully multi-coated glass creates a pleasing image in the absence of bulk in excess.

Bushnell V2 Pinseeker

The Bushnell V2 Pinseeker proves the ideal laser rangefinder for tournament and leisure play. However, it is not a GPS device. As its name suggests, the design of this piece of equipment is such that a target pin becomes isolated from the surroundings, the distance gets measured and this value is displayed on the screen of the device. The aim is to choose the correct golf club in addition to the correct swing to sink a golf ball into its hole.

The V2 Pinseeker is able to measure distances from five to one thousand yards with great accuracy. If you wish for higher range limits, the Bushnell 1600 Editions extend to a maximum of 1,600 yards. Furthermore, those who consider themselves to be mathematically challenged, there are devices that convert yards to meters.

Bushnell parent company retains the rights to renowned athletic vision brands Bole and Serengeti — and also many big-ticket companies that are directed at people who are gun owners. Bushnell manufactures small lines of merchandise for sports watching and golf, but its position in trade is optics directed at people who like to hunt.
Bushnell also supplies a whole line of GPS products directed at getting those hunters out of the bush without harm once they have accomplished what they went into the bush to do. But, the company’s new locater Navigation System is usually marketed at more mundane situations, like assisting in finding your car in crowded Wal-Mart shopping center.

The Backtrack is a gps locater made by Bushnell. Backtrack is a superb hiking tool if you already know where you are going to jump start your hike. Its ideally sized medallion design makes for comfy to wear around the neck, and the LCD screen is stress-free to read thanks to easy to follow symbols and only two buttons with which to route and locate starting locations. Also, leaving markers to three locations does not overwhelm the novice who is just starting to learn how to use GPS locator navigation.
The Bushnell Backtrack is great for travel, outdoor journeys or even finding your vehicle at the mall or any huge parking lot.

Just mark your location before you set out and Bushnell Backtrack will guide you back to where you began. It stores and locates up to 3 locations. Its moderate size, digital display is quite simple to follow. It features a highly sensitive SIRF Star 3 GPS receiving device and self-regulating electronic compass. Its rough, weather-resistant construction stands up to the rigidities of outdoor use

The Bushnell Backtrack is fully weather proof. It can keep record of location and distance using both metric and standard measurement, and is operated by two AAA batteries (not included). It comes in an assortment of colors, pink, green, hunter camouflage and gray.

While the selection of the camera binoculars expands in the market there are always binoculars which are available that have a very good binocular specification and an equally good digital camera alongside.

One such from the Bushnell stable is the Bushnell 10x25mm Imageview Binoculars

The main feature of this Bushnell binocular is the 10x25mm specification and that will mean 10x magnification and the objective lens diameter of 25mm. This is absolutely very good specification as far the magnification goes. The digital camera that it has is the .35 megapixel camera. The camera magnification is 8x.

Some of the main specifications of the 10×25 Imageview binoculars with the digital camera are

10x magnification

Fully coated lenses

8MB internal memory.

Fold down rubber cups.

Eye relief – 10mm

The resolution of these pictures is …

Again as with the 7x18mm pocket digital camera binoculars these are very compact and are a value for money.

A couple of drawbacks are that this does not have a digital memory card slot which means that you have to rely on the internal memory and that can carry only about 150 pictures based on the resolution.

If you need the camera to have more pictures then I will suggest buying more expensive cameras which at least does have a memory card slot.

As far as the usability is concerned you will need to make sure that the camera is not shaky.

Initially that will happen and it will take a while before you get into the habit of holding the camera steady.0020

Bushnell range of 10x25mm Imageview binoculars have also other models such as the

10x 25mm 11-1026 VGA as well as the 10x 25mm 11-1211VGA .

Challenges

The handling of the computer and the digital camera interface is a tough game as you will need to load the drivers onto the PC and then have the PC recognize the camera. It is not as smooth as it can be hence a lot of people do not prefer this.

Bushnell 7x18mm Imageview binoculars are the most economical binoculars in the digital camera binoculars category. These binoculars are very compact and can be easily termed as the pocket binoculars.

Some of the specification for this binocular is the prism design and the design is porro prism. Porro prism design is definitely cost effective to manufacture. For more on the porro prism design you can read my post here on the porro prism binoculars.

Specifications

Eye relief is 14.5mm

The field of view is 365 feet at 1000 yards

As far as the lens coatings are concerned the lenses have the fully coated specifications. The prisms are made up of BaK-7 glass material.

The resolution of the digital camera binoculars can vary from the VGA resolution to the mega pixel binoculars and for these Bushnell binoculars the resolution is VGA.

It has a 16MB memory to hold the pictures taken in the internal memory.

If you buy these Bushnell Digital Binoculars then you will also get a USB cable, A image editing software as well as the a bag to carry all these toghers includig the binoculars.

Picture quality of this 7x18mm Imageview binoculars is juts about average though at the price at which you can get these is pure value for money. As far as use is concerned it is fairly easy to use and you can get pictures by just one click of a button.

Challenges with these binoculars

The challenge is getting the pictures off into the PC. You need to install a driver to get the PC to recognize the Digital camera binocular. This brand does not have the SD memory card slot and hence it becomes tough to get a lot of photos and you will have to offload these into the PC every now and then. If you are using these while hunting then at one stage you will feel a bit handicapped that you cannot take more pictures with it.

The resolution of the pictures is 640×480 only. This is small resolution as compared to what you can get for a lot of pictures today.

There are some PC requirements that are a must have for you top download the pictures

Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

Intel Pentium 166MMX processor or better

32MB RAM or better
